It’s Hard Out There For A Pregnant Lady

So, today Danielle had to make a spontaneous drive to the midwives on account of a spike in blood pressure. She’s okay. And, so is Skeletor 2.0. Just the run of the mill Pregnant Life Experience.

But, gosh. It freaked me out. I’d forgotten how easy it is when you’re pregnant for random incidents in life to end in a trip to the hospital. We spend a lot of time, or at least I do, thinking on things like sleeping arrangements and work schedules for after the new baby comes. It’s moments like these that help me remember what a serious demand on the body, and on its support systems, that a pregnancy really is.

So, now, Danielle gets mad and her blood pressure spikes and that wins a trip to the hospital. Where, before, Danielle gets mad and her blood pressure spikes and some fool gets told what fer.

DISCLAIMER: I did not make my wife mad. Some other fool did that. Today.

So, tonight’s a slow post night. We had some family time. Once again, it’s really nice to live in 2011 when a baby sitter lives in the old cell phone. Yeah. Sometimes we let Netflix on the cell phone babysit Claire. But, really, Claire’s a champ. She could tell her mom didn’t feel well. So she directed all her hyperactivity towards me. Yay.

I’m tired now.

  1. Billy and Danielle, I wish you smooth sailing the rest of the way through your pregnancy. I will never forget tripping over our cat in the kitchen when I was about 8 mo pregnant – and dislocating my shoulder. Definitely not a happy event!
