A Tale Of Two Weekends

Danielle and the girls spent Thanksgiving Prime in Tampa with her mom and sister. From there, they jumped over to Disney World and spent the rest of their time there. Great fun was, unsurprisingly, had by all. Harper even cut her first tooth.

Me? I was just like Claire in the video. Only the pillow was work and all that joyful laughter was actually fever induced delirium. But I kept throwing myself at it. Yes sir. So, I think weekend was a push in terms if who had it the best.

The Unvarnished Truth

Claire’s has been getting karate lessons as a part of her school’s weekly activities. Today, she got a White Belt.

After Getting The Belt:

Claire is totally a little shy. I have other thoughts about this. But, here’s the video for now. Man, kids are just adorable. No matter what. When they’re yours. And three.

The Next 15 Days

As a heads up, I’m scheduled to work something like 132 hours over the last half of November. I’ll be picking up some slack from my nightshift counterpart while he takes off for Thanksgiving. As a result, I suspect things around here might get a little thin. Not least because not being up and around my kids a lot makes it hard to catch photos of them to post.

So, fear not. I have not forgotten you. I’m just busy helping to protect the country. Yeah. So, rest easy. Ima go play with some GLO STIX now and drink egg nog.

Items Of Interest – November 2012

Rolling Jubilee is something I think some of you might be interested in, but might also not be aware of. Suffice to say, it’s a love it or hate it idea. Self described:

“We buy debt for pennies on the dollar, but instead of collecting it, we abolish it. We cannot buy specific individuals’ debt – instead, we help liberate debtors at random through a campaign of mutual support, good will, and collective refusal.”

Associated it with it will be an all star (ish?) telecast (for which they are selling live tickets) but that they will also stream on the internet. This happens November 15. They are estimating that by buying non-specific individual debt they can realize returns of about 30 to 1. So, you contribute $100, they estimate they can purchase $3,000 of outstanding debt and forgive it. Obviously, they are Occupy Wall Street affiliated. Given the maze of of paperwork associated with a lot of debt notes, I’m mostly curious whether or not the person would ever know that part of their debt has been forgiven. And, I don’t see a lot of information describing their process. Still, look at them. Carrying on. Actually, if you’ve been following them, OWS has never really stopped chugging along. They’re definitely interesting.

Also, check out this Disney Nostalgia tumblr. It’s full of scanned copies of old school Disney World post cards. I believe I know some folks headed to Disney in the near future. You might check it out for your own inspiration. But, I thought it was interesting in and of itself.

That concludes your Items of Interest post. I will now to take the NyQuil for the enjoying of the sleep whilst sick. Good day.
